Mr. Jacob Havey | Teacher on Special Assignment (TOSA)

Introducing Jacob Havey, currently serving as the Curriculum and Instruction (C&I) and Multi-Tiered Systems of Support (MTSS)  Teacher on Special Assignment (TOSA) at North Star Academy. In collaboration with Principal Erin Kekos, Mr. Havey plays a pivotal role in fostering a safe and positive learning environment for students.

With more than a decade of experience in education, Mr. Havey began his career as an elementary school teacher, where he quickly showcased his talent for engaging students and nurturing their love of learning. His journey led him to take on leadership roles, serving as an instructional coach and curriculum instructor before being appointed to his current role at North Star Academy. 

In his role as the school’s curriculum lead, Mr. Havey shapes the academic landscape and learning environment. A strong advocate for differentiated instruction, social-emotional learning, and technology integration, he has consistently demonstrated a commitment to high-quality education. His dedication extends to building strong relationships with students, families, and staff.

Mr. Havey envisions a school where students not only acquire academic knowledge, but also develop critical thinking skills, emotional intelligence, and social awareness crucial for navigating the complexities of the 21st century.

Mr. Havey holds a Master of Arts in Educational Leadership from Santa Clara University and a Bachelor of Arts in Elementary Education from San Francisco State University.
