4th grade - Whitla-Pinto, Brenda

Brenda Whitla Pinto

About Me:

Attitude is everything! Let’s work together to make learning fun and all be on the same team. Students in 4th grade will explore California's history starting with the Native Americans, then on to the California Mission era, the Gold Rush and finally they will study the beginnings of California's government. We will read The Island of the Blue Dolphins by Scott O’Dell and By the Great Horn Spoon by Sid Fleischman and focus on narrative writing and fiction writing. All assignments, daily classroom agenda and the Social Studies textbook are available in Google Classroom.
I am so excited to teach 4th grade at North Star Academy! I grew up in the gold country, near Mariposa California and began my journey as an educator as a 4th grade teacher's assistant and later student taught in 4th grade. I have been a teacher at North Star Academy since 2001 on the 6th grade level, teaching English Language Arts and Social Studies. I live in Redwood City with my husband and daughter who is a North Star alumni, class of 2020. The best way to reach me is by email.
